Why We Started It’s Legal
Here's the story. One day, Michael and MerriLyn were talking in Fall of 2023, during one of their quarterly check-ins. Michael asked MerriLyn, "What are you working on?" MerriLyn replied, " I am trying to find in-person networking events for one of my attorney clients. He is looking to network with other attorneys, and there are essentially none in New York." Michael responded, "Want to start one?"
It's Legal was born!
They wanted a networking space exclusively for lawyers. A place where they could show up without being sold to, where conversations weren’t interrupted by pitches, and where trust could develop naturally.
Today, the number one feedback we hear from attendees is that It’s Legal feels like a sacred space: a room where attorneys can connect freely, share resources, and build meaningful professional relationships without pressure.
